Hood By Air and More Design Sounds for MADE Fashion Week

MilkMade

As the catwalks of MADE Fashion Week wind down, we’ve partnered with MilkMADE and Jawbone to discover the sounds that inspire the fashion artistry with exclusive playlists from three hot designers who have revealed their sonic influences for the Rdio community:

Creatures of the Wind

The label known for achieving the enviable task of bringing fantastically mystical creations to the realm of real people wearability offers a fun playlist with iconic ladies like Patti Smith and Siouxsie And The Banshees mixed with up-and-coming names Tirzah and Lower Dens.

Pamela Love

This New York-based jewelry company stands out not only for its stunning designs but for the use of ethically-sourced stones and recycled metal. Love shows in her playlist that she grooves to the beat of a wide variety of artists, including Emmylou Harris, Roxy Music, and the Black Angels.

Hood By Air

The cult streetwear label has taken over the world with the wry HBA-stamped brand that has significantly grown in influence internationally. The company’s playlist is as surprising as the subtle yet meaningful tweaks on Americana outfits, lingering with ladies like Anita Baker, Rihanna, and Britney Spears.

For Your Eyes and Ears: Volcano Choir on New Music Weekly

Engulf yourself in a forest of sound with this week’s New Music Weekly video. We paired the track “Dancepack” by Volcano Choir, a project from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, with production crew Wolf & Crow and artist Chad Howitt to create an artificial world of real artistry:

"I grew up in a small town called Los Angeles, where my first job was at a record store. I've worked with people who moved here from other places, and watched their hopes and dreams get crushed by the city, turning them inside out. This was my inspiration.

Also, because we have minimal amounts of nature here, I thought it best we recreate it on the computer. Live action casting for stag beetles didn't go very well at all. There were also issues with trying to put lights inside of them."
