Get Ready to Riot: Win and See The Replacements in Toronto, Chicago, Denver

One of the certain highlights of this year’s RiotFest, which kicks off its three-city stint on August 24 in Toronto, will be the long-anticipated reunion of punk pioneers The Replacements. The legendary band is a fitting headliner for a music fest that has celebrated the best of alternative and punk rock since 2005. But with a lineup that also includes unstoppable names as Iggy & The Stooges, Blink 182, Pixies, Dinosaur Jr., A Day to Remember and Blondie, there are plenty of musical memories that will be made in Toronto, Chicago and Denver this year.

Lucky for you, Rdio is giving you and a friend the chance to make your own once-in-a-lifetime memory. We’re giving away VIP prize experiences including side-stage access, artist meet & greets, and VIP passes to the Riot Fest of your choice:

  • Toronto: August 24, 2013 - August 25, 2013
  • Chicago: September 13, 2013 - September 15, 2013

For Your Eyes and Ears: Pond on New Music Weekly

We’re showing off our first non-animation short for the fourth installment of our New Music Weekly video. Tame Impala’s sister band, Pond, soundtracks the spectral piece with their brand new song, “Hobo Rocket”. We’ll let the video whizzes at Wizz take it away:

"We wanted to create a different kind of world with this identity. One that is unexpected and experimental — an art piece. The idea was to combine various techniques and genres to create a very original world, with a raw aesthetic and a kind of DIY experimental look. Something more akin to a video art piece than a pop music promo."
