Playlist Notes

  • Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do
It’s been seven years, but Fiona Apple finally has a new full-length. The power and dexterity of first single “Every Single Night” showed Apple retains her fire and form, so this is one to hear.

  • Smashing Pumpkins - Oceania
BIlly Corgan and co. release the next chapter in the ongoing mega-album Teargarden by Kaleidyscope this week. It’s alleged to be less heavy than most Pumpkins albums, in favor of space and dreaminess, but you’ll have to listen and decide for yourself.

  • Nickodemus - Moon People
World-influenced DJ Nickodemus fuses music from all corners of the globe into his eclectic, party-ready sound — his new album is no different. Your summer barbecue will thank you.

  • Justin Bieber - Believe
The teen pop sensation’s second album is a more mature take on his upbeat, melodic sound, as evidenced by first single “Boyfriend” and a guest feature by Nicki Minaj.

  • Meek Mill - “Amen (feat. Drake)”
Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill’s new single is all lighthearted boasting and playful piano — it features a verse from TO’s finest.

  • Kenny Chesney - Welcome to the Fishbowl
Country music hitmaker Kenny Chesney’s fifteenth album is an examination of life in the spotlight, and features guest spots from fellow crooner Tim McGraw and blues-rocker Grace Potter.
