From the Rdio page to the concert stage: Find out when your favourites are playing near you

Rdio is bringing you even closer to your favourite bands. Now with our Songkick integration, you can easily see who’s scheduled to be in concert near you, as soon as tour dates are announced. You can even grab tickets while you listen!

Watch for tour dates in a couple of places:

  • Home.
As you scroll through Home, look for a new story, “Concerts recommended for you.” Here you’ll find upcoming shows from your favourite bands at venues near you. As you favourite and listen more, we’ll recommend more shows.

  • Artist pages.
If a favourite artist is playing near you, you’ll see a green “On Tour” icon at the top of their page, letting you know when and where you can see them live.

From either page, you can click through to purchase tickets. We’re rolling out this feature on web starting now, and will make it available on mobile in the coming months.

Enjoy the show!

Rdio for iOS: It’s Getting Better All the Time

Rdio is already the best music app available (just ask the New York Times), but that’s not good enough for us — we’re always looking for ways to make our mobile app even better.

So today, we’re excited to launch two new features on the Rdio app for iOS.

First up is playlist editing. Now, you can update your playlists from your iPhone or iPod touch — in addition to creating playlists and adding new tracks, you can now remove and rearrange tracks until you’ve made the best playlist ever (or it’s dethroned by your next playlist, of course). You can also customize the playlist artwork, change its visibility and collaboration settings, and more.

The other big addition is reviews. You can now write album and playlist reviews right from the iOS app, and read reviews by critics and other people on Rdio. It’s a great way to see what other listeners think of your favourite albums and let your own voice be heard.

We’ve also made tweaks to the app’s design, user interface, and overall performance — all the little details that make Rdio so enjoyable to use.

We hope you enjoy the updates on Rdio for iOS. We look forward to bringing these new features to Android down the road.

Haven’t tried Rdio on mobile yet? Download our apps for free from the iTunes App Store or Google Play.

Rdio + Shazam Go Global

Rdio and Shazam

We’ve been incredibly thrilled about working with Shazam the past year to power music discovery in new and creative ways. Earlier this month we announced our latest integration with Shazam to offer a personal playlist of your Shazamed songs in the Rdio App. This playlist updates automatically with every new song you tag in Shazam, making it easy to relive a brilliant night out, track for track, on Rdio. Music fans can also instantly listen to entire songs right after tagging them in Shazam by clicking the “Listen Free on Rdio” link within the app.

Now Rdio and Shazam are taking these integrations around the world to 29 additional countries including France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa.

“Working together in major countries across the globe, we are now providing more than 270 million Shazam users the ability to instantly listen to an entire song they just identified exclusively on Rdio and seamlessly build playlists on Rdio,” said Daniel Danker, chief product officer of Shazam.

“Music lovers around the globe can now connect Shazam's tagging feature with Rdio's digital music service. All the songs tagged in Shazam are automatically added to a 'My Shazam Tracks' playlist in Rdio, making it easy to identify, save, and organise their music discoveries,” said Anthony Bay, chief executive officer of Rdio. “Rdio and Shazam are at the forefront of how people are discovering new music.”

Here is the complete list of the 35 countries where the Shazam and Rdio integration is now available: United States, United Kingdom, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Peru, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, and Venezuela.

Our partnership with Shazam is one of the many ways we are dedicated to bringing the Rdio experience to music lovers everywhere. Paired with our web, desktop, and mobile apps that serve up any song, album, artist or station we can proudly say the music never stops when you listen to Rdio!
