We love our Rdio Influencers and are grateful for their contributions to this community all year long. Right around now, we’re especially excited about the slew of new playlists created to commemorate all the amazing music that came out in 2013. Hours and hours of interesting selections are all here for your listening enjoyment, including a few standouts that caught our eyes and ears:
"NPR Music's 50 Favorite Albums Of 2013" and "NPR Music's 100 Favorite Songs Of 2013" are enlightening mixes of popular and below-the-radar selections. One spoiler: They couldn’t resist “Blurred Lines,” either.
There are many surprises to be found in Paste Magazine’s "The Best Songs of 2013" playlist, which brings a diverse group of artists together. The editors of the renowned music publication soundtracked their year with music by Okkervil River, Jason Isbell, Neko Case, Daft Punk, Kanye West and Pusha T.
The Pretty Much Amazing blog contributes "PMA's Best Songs of 2013". It’s a super fun set where household names like Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus get down and party with should-be-household-names such as Autre Ne Veut and Rhye. There’s a lot of good music going on here.
Hype Machine constantly tracks the artists, songs and remixes that are being blogged about the most at any given time. Their "Zeitgeist 2013 - Most Blogged Artists" playlist rounds up the champions of the whole year in one set. We won’t give away too much and spoil the reveal, but it’s a diverse mix with names like Lorde, Disclosure, and Haim.
If you’re looking to dance the day (or night) away, press play on "Ultra Music's Best of 2013!" The leading New York dance label’s playlist includes anthems by EDM stars like Benny Benassi, Kaskade, and Tiesto.
