New Music Tuesday - November 20, 2012

Like pancakes without syrup, it’s just not a Tuesday without a slathering of sweet new music to jam. Kid Rock and his buddy Uncle Kracker both have new albums out this week, as does veteran singer-songwriter Elvis Costello. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj and Björk have both released updates to previously-released material: the former has supplemented her album Roman Reloaded with another set of new singles and bonus tracks, while the latter has provided a series of remixes from the recent Biophilia.

There’s more below on our New Music Tuesday playlist, in the Playlist Notes below that, and in the compiled Rdio New Releases. Don’t miss out on all that this week has to offer.

Playlist Notes

  • Coldplay - Live 2012
The arena-rockers release their first live album in over a decade, featuring the best songs of their recent catalog delivered to a cheering, enthusiastic stadium full of fans. Fans of Mylo Xyloto would be well-advised to give it a listen.

  • Kid Rock - Rebel Soul
The hard-rockin’ country-rap star’s ninth album finds him reveling in his booze’n’broads lifestyle while also paying homage to his country’s troops via single “Let’s Ride.”

  • 3 Doors Down - The Greatest Hits
The post-grunge alt-rockers that brought you “Kyptonite,” “When I’m Gone,” and “It’s Not My Time” put all their singles in one place. For new fans, it’s a broad view of what 3 Doors Down are about while diehards will want to hear new single “One Light.”

  • Kelly Clarkson - Greatest Hits
The pop singer has earned millions of fans for her down to earth personality and magnificent voice. The span of singles on her new Greatest Hits comp — “Since U Been Gone,” “My Life Would Suck Without You,” and “Stronger,” among them — reflect her success since winning American Idol a decade ago.

  • Pitbull - Global Warming
The club-music hit-maker keeps up his prolific pace with his seventh album in eight years. Global Warming is chock full of more club bangers featuring guests like Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Shakira, and Enrique Iglesias.
