‘Twas a week before Christmas, and all through Rdio, new releases were still stirring. Along with long-awaited new albums this week, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Tegan And Sara, and Jason Derulo are mining the past with a B-sides collection, a fan-demanded demo collection, and a remix album. New EPs from IDM act Telefon Tel Aviv and singer Leona Lewis provide a little extra bang for your musical buck. Listen to our New Music Tuesday playlist and try some new music on for size.

Playlist Notes

  • Young Jeezy - TM: 103 Hustlerz Ambition
Atlanta-bred rapper Young Jeezy’s first album in over two years features guest spots by Andre 3000, Jay-Z, T.I., Jill Scott, Ne-Yo, Fabolous, Future, and Jadakiss. With a guest list like that, Hustlerz Ambition is a party you won’t want to miss.

  • Common - The Dreamer, The Believer
After the aggressive electronic style of 2008’s Universal Mind Control, Common returns to his soul roots on his ninth studio album, The Dreamer, The Believer.

  • Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings - Soul Time!
This week, these neo-soul revivalists follow up their 2010 studio album I Learned the Hard Way with a collection of all the singles they’ve recorded since, including a cover of Shuggie Otis’ “Inspiration Information.”

  • Telefon Tel Aviv - You Are The Worst Thing in the World
IDM act Telefon Tel Aviv, aka Joshua Eustis, has been quiet for the past few years, but he emerges this week with a remix single for Immolate Yourself track “You Are The Worst Thing in the World.” The single includes new remixes by Jay Haze and Gaiser, plus fellow Immolate Yourself tune “Your Mouth.”

  • AIR - “Parade”
French electronic act AIR are known for their smooth, romantic sound punctuated by burbling and arpeggiated synths, but the duo opted for more organic, orchestral sounds on their last album. It’s anyone’s guess where AIR will go on their forthcoming album and soundtrack for the classic silent-film Le Voyage Dans La Lune, but its first single “Parade” should give an indication.
