WHAT YOU’LL FIND IN STATIONS

  • Radio you’ll never tire of — Choose from 10 different station types to create an endless list of favourite stations, each drawing on our catalog of over 20 million songs. Start a station by typing in any artist or song in the search bar, or select one of almost 400 sub-genre stations. No matter what your mood or taste in music, we have a station that’s just right for you.

  • Stunning new player — Vote on individual songs, tune stations towards familiar or adventurous sounds, and pivot stations based on favourite tracks, all inside a dynamic station player design that features album art like it's meant to be seen.

  • You FM — A brand new, personalised, adjustable station that leverages Taste Profiling technology from The Echo Nest and incorporates all your listening history, track voting, Facebook likes, Twitter follows, and more to create a truly unique and individualised listening experience. As your tastes grow and evolve, so does You FM.

  • Stations front and center — A simple, elegant user interface for browsing various station types, creating new stations, and revisiting favourite stations.

  • Social discovery — Easily play stations based on your friends' aggregated listening history (Heavy Rotation Station) or tuning into a specific friend's or influencer’s You FM by clicking People. It’s like flipping on the car radio and knowing every DJ.

Music Discovery: Now Easier Than Ever

Rdio Friends

At Rdio, we’re all about helping you find new music. From Heavy Rotation to label pages, music discovery is always at the forefront of our design. We’re introducing new features to personalise your music exploration and give you more control over the music you’re listening to, as you’re listening to it. Today, we’ll walk you through the first of these updates that you may have already noticed in our web and desktop apps.

WHAT YOU’LL FIND

  • Welcome to Rdio — New listeners will immediately be greeted by fellow Rdio friends (based on connected Twitter and Facebook accounts), awesome influencers, and the tunes they love when they first sign up. After all, music should be social.

  • Find People — Just like in the updated iOS and Android apps, current listeners can view a curated list of recommended friends alongside hand-picked artists and influencers to follow.

  • AutoPlay — Never again wonder, “What should I listen to next?” AutoPlay is a personalized station that plays more music similar to the last song you listened to.

  • Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down — We’re debuting one of our most-requested features. When playing an artist station, song station, or AutoPlay, just roll over the tracklist to vote on current and upcoming songs. Each time you click, Rdio learns more about your tastes, curating more of the music you love.

  • Start Station — Can’t get enough of what’s currently playing? Now you can start a new station based on the song you’re listening to by hitting the Start Station button on the album art.

  • New Player — We’ve integrated the album artwork from the currently playing song for a beautiful and visually-evolving listening experience. Access the full view by clicking the player button on the bottom right. Here you’ll be able to see what’s now playing and the tracklist of upcoming music.

We’re excited for our listeners to take these features for a spin.
