City and Colour Plays Old Favourites and New Song at Rdio Sessions

City And Colour

Singer, songwriter, and hardcore multi-instrumentalist Dallas Green, better known as City and Colour, swung by Rdio Sessions during SXSW for an intense and intimate performance. As a special treat for die-hard fans on Rdio, City and Colour performed the song "Of Space And Time" off his brand new album The Hurry and the Harm, released just last month. Luckily, we captured the Rdio Session so you, too, can enjoy his amazing show and a preview of the new album all in one listen.

Mac DeMarco, the Canadian indie rock star once known as Makeout Videotape, provides the latest edition of our exclusive Rdio Session series recorded during SXSW. He chose the best tunes from his 2012 albums Rock and Roll Night Club and 2 for his intimate set, including “Cooking Up Something Good” and “She’s Really All I Need.”

Mount Moriah Climbs The Rdio Sessions Stage

Hailing from North Carolina, Mount Moriah is the classic American folk and rock side project of Jenks Miller (from heavy psych/metal act Horseback), Heather McEntire (from post punk group Bellafea), and Casey Toll (who joined the duo in 2010). The trio’s new Rdio Session showcases the songs “Bright Light,” “Eureka Springs,” “I Built a Town,” and “Miracle Temple Holiness,” all taken from the latest album Miracle Temple.

Last year, a new and mysterious psychedelic rock project called Unknown Mortal Orchestra won the Taite Music Prize, New Zealand’s annual award for the best album of the year, for their self-titled debut.

Not keen to rest on their laurels for too long, the Auckland-by-way-of-Portland group has signed to American indie label Jagjaguwar to release the sophomore full-length II. The album officially drops on February 5 but Rdio listeners are enjoying an exclusive early preview of II right now.
