Rdio's Top Charts of 2012

Most Played Tracks 2012

As 2012 winds down, it’s time to look back on our musical journey and reflect on all jams past. This was a year full of heavy-hitting new releases but the most shared album in the world was a powerful contender from 2011. Adele’s 21 never left our charts in ‘12 — neither did Icelandic indie troupe Of Monsters and Men’s debut album, Alt-J’s Mercury Prize winning LP, and the soundtrack to Brazilian soap opera, Avenida Brasil.

Take a look below to see who else ruled the global Top Shared Albums on Rdio.

TOP SHARED ALBUMS — GLOBAL
1. Adele - 21
2. Of Monsters And Men - My Head Is An Animal
3. Various Artists - Avenida Brasil EP

Naturally, these results are reflected back here at home, too, with the aforementioned artists and more making plenty of waves. Take a look at the Top Played Tracks in Australia to see who else made the grade:

Get Ready for Meredith With Rdio’s 2012 Playlist

Meredith Music Festival

Since it began in 1991, the Meredith Music Festival has grown from an intimate 200-person event into a massive, three-day party that attracts 12,500 people per day to the “Supernatural Amphitheatre,” located on a private farm near Meredith. This year’s event takes place from December 7-9, but the pre-party starts now with our Meredith 2012 Playlist.

Warm up to this set featuring MMF headliners like British vets Primal Scream and Spiritualized alongside younger stunners like Canadian electronic pop princess Grimes and Perth’s Tame Impala. Enjoy the tunes wherever you are — be safe and have fun out there if you’re one of the lucky music lovers who is going to MMF.
