An Rdio Exclusive: Listen to Beach House’s New Album, Bloom

Beach house Bloom pic

Beach House have been releasing music since 2006, but it was with 2010’s Teen Dream that the Baltimore dream-pop duo really broke through, catching ears with hazy epics like “Zebra” and “Norway.” The follow-up full-length is Bloom, an album that only builds on the band’s previous success with even sweeter melodies, and more space in their towering pop ballads.

Want to hear the album now? Listen to Bloom on Rdio below, and be sure to share it with your friends.

Rdio for iPad Highlights: Sync, Share and Play

You asked for it time and time again so it was no small feat when Rdio shared the big, beautiful Rdio for iPad app back in August 2011. Today, we wanted to highlight what we’ve heard are your favorite features and share some of our own too. If you don't see your favorite thing about the app listed here, let us know in the comments.

One of the best things about the iPad is how touchable it is. Let your fingers do the browsing with Rdio for iPad’s pop-out user profiles and album information. Cruise your network’s Recent Activity, or a playlist track list. Not only that, we've heard the Retina-friendly app has such beautiful graphics, there's no reason not to tune in and rock out with your music's album art.

Leaving on a jetplane? Don’t forget to pack your toothbrush and the Rdio for iPad app, loaded with music. If you want to see what you can listen to 30,000 feet in the sky, sort your Collection by synced music only.

Don’t sweat Rdio for iPad’s data usage — change your Settings so that music syncs over wifi only.

When the perfect song for the perfect person starts playing, let them know on Twitter, Facebook or send him or her an email. Sharing from Rdio for iPad is easy.

Perfect on the couch or during your commute, Rdio for iPad is a free download from the iTunes App Store. After a 7-day free trial, you can subscribe to Rdio Unlimited at or through Apple’s in-app purchasing system.

Get Ready for Groovin’ The Moo with user-submitted Rdio Playlists

Since 2005, Australian multi-city music festival Groovin’ The Moo has rocked crowds with a fine balance of international and native acts. The festival has grown over the years, and is now bigger and better than ever — this year’s five days of fun include sets from Andrew W.K., Digitalism, Kaiser Chiefs, Kimbra, Muscles, Public Enemy, Wavves, and many more. The fest kicks off in Bendigo on May 5 before heading to Townsville, Maitland, Canberra, and Bunbury on May 6, 12, 13, and 19, respectively.

Follow Groovin’ The Moo on Rdio now, and brush up on the festival music with people’s excellent GTM playlists to preview the forthcoming festival dates. For starters, give DJ Purple Sneakers’ playlist a spin or try performing band Gold Fields’ mix of “some stuff we're pretty excited to see in the paddock.”
